Guest registration in Slovenia: eTurizem and the guest book
Every host in Slovenia enters each guest in a guest book and reports them to AJPES through eTurizem within 12 hours of arrival, under the Residence Registration Act (ZPPreb-1). AJPES passes the data on to the police, the municipality and the Statistical Office (SURS). A sobodajalec who does not report a guest faces a fine of €500 – €1,500.

Who has to report
Every host who gives guests a bed for the night: companies, sole traders, sobodajalci (private individuals who rent out rooms or flats) and tourist farms.
Reporting through eTurizem requires the accommodation to be entered in the register of accommodation establishments (RNO) kept by AJPES. Only a host who is not required to be in that register reports guests to the police instead; a sobodajalec is required to register.
What goes in the guest book
For each guest: name, date of birth, sex, citizenship, and the type and number of their identity document. The book also records arrival and departure times, the data used to calculate the tourist tax, and the monthly statistics.
The host checks the data and has the right to see the identity document. Entries are kept for the calendar year and one year after it, and police officers and municipal inspectors may inspect them.
Deadlines
Guest data goes to eTurizem within 12 hours of arrival. If the departure date and time are not known on arrival, or change later, they are entered within the same time after the guest leaves.
AJPES expects the monthly statistical report from the 1st to the 10th of the month, for the previous month. The act itself says the first day of the month, so filing early in that window is the safe reading.
Fines
Not entering or not reporting a guest costs a sobodajalec €500 – €1,500, and a company or sole trader €1,500 – €4,000.
